CUUSD Regulatory Status
CUUSD has been deployed on the Ethereum blockchain in connection with a limited pilot initiative. The regulatory framework governing payment stablecoins continues to evolve, including under the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins Act (GENIUS Act) and any applicable implementing regulations.
Regulatory approval to operate as a permitted payment stablecoin issuer has not yet been granted and is not guaranteed. Appex intends to seek all applicable approvals and authorizations necessary for future issuance, redemption, participation and operational use of CUUSD. Any broader availability or operational use of CUUSD will remain subject to applicable legal, regulatory, supervisory and program requirements.
Intended Purpose
CUUSD is being designed as a payment stablecoin intended to support institutional payment, settlement, treasury and liquidity management use cases.
CUUSD is being developed to support regulated financial institutions, including credit unions and other eligible institutional participants.
CUUSD is not intended for:
- Retail consumer use
- Peer-to-peer consumer payments
- Investment purposes
- Speculative trading activities
CUUSD is intended to function as a utility-focused payment instrument and is not being developed as an investment product.
